Healthcare Assistant
MedPlus, Jaipur is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant for its retail pharmacy store. If you are considering this role, here are honest answers to the most common questions candidates ask before applying.
What does a Pharmacy Assistant actually do all day?
You assist the pharmacist in dispensing medicines to customers and patients. When a prescription comes in, you locate the medicines on the shelves, check the quantity and batch, pack them, and hand them over with dosage instructions as guided by the pharmacist. You also manage stock — receiving new inventory, arranging shelves, checking expiry dates, and flagging items running low. On busy days you also handle billing and cash collection at the counter.
Do I need a pharmacy degree to apply?
No. A D.Pharm or B.Pharm is preferred but not mandatory for an assistant role. Candidates with a 12th pass in Science who are willing to learn are considered. Candidates currently pursuing D.Pharm and looking for a job alongside their course are also welcome.
What are the working hours?
The store operates from 8 AM to 10 PM. You will be assigned one of two shifts — morning 8 AM to 4 PM or afternoon 2 PM to 10 PM — with one weekly off. Shifts are fixed once confirmed during onboarding.
What is the salary?
Rs 11,000 to Rs 16,000 per month depending on your qualification and prior experience. D.Pharm holders are placed at the higher end. Salary revision after 6 months based on performance review. ESI and PF included. No registration fee — this is direct company hiring.
How do I get selected?
Submit your application. Shortlisted candidates are called for a walk-in interview at the store location in Jaipur. The interview is a brief conversation about your knowledge of common medicines and your availability. No written test. Most candidates who clear the interview start within one week.
