Global MNC Tech is seeking a detail-oriented and highly responsible Weekend Cargo Insurance Surveyor to support our logistics and insurance operations. The role focuses on inspecting cargo shipments, assessing damage or loss, and preparing accurate survey reports for insurance claims and risk evaluation. This position is ideal for professionals who have knowledge of cargo handling, marine logistics, or insurance survey processes and are available to work on weekends.
As a Weekend Cargo Insurance Surveyor, you will play a critical role in safeguarding supply chain operations by verifying cargo condition, documenting incidents, and assisting insurers and clients in claim validation. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining professional communication with clients, warehouse teams, and insurance representatives.
Conduct physical inspections of cargo shipments at ports, warehouses, airports, or logistics hubs.
Assess the condition of goods during loading, unloading, and storage processes.
Investigate cargo damage, shortages, contamination, or packaging issues.
Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographs, measurements, and documentation.
Coordinate with logistics providers, shipping agents, insurers, and clients during surveys.
Verify shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
Provide recommendations on loss prevention and cargo handling improvements.
Maintain accurate records of surveys, reports, and claim-related documentation.
Submit survey findings within required timelines to insurance and internal teams.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and insurance inspection guidelines.
Bachelors degree in Logistics, Marine Studies, Insurance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Knowledge of cargo inspection procedures and marine or transit insurance practices.
Strong observation and reporting skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for documentation and reporting.
Ability to capture and document evidence using digital devices and reporting tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
2–5 years of experience in cargo surveying, marine insurance inspection, logistics quality control, or warehouse inspection roles.
Experience working with shipping companies, freight forwarders, or insurance survey agencies is preferred.
Freshers with relevant academic background and strong analytical abilities may also be considered for junior roles.
Part-time weekend role (Saturday and Sunday).
Typical shift: 6–8 hours per day depending on cargo inspection schedules.
Flexibility required for early morning or evening inspections based on shipment arrival times.
Occasional on-call assignments for urgent cargo inspections.
Understanding of cargo packaging standards and handling procedures.
Familiarity with marine cargo insurance policies and claim documentation.
Ability to analyze cargo damage and identify probable causes.
Strong attention to detail and evidence documentation.
Ability to work independently and travel to inspection locations when required.
Basic understanding of safety regulations in logistics environments.
