Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Hydroponic Farm Technician to support the daily operations of our modern hydroponic growing facility. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sustainable agriculture, plant science, and innovative farming technologies.

The Hydroponic Farm Technician will assist in monitoring plant health, maintaining hydroponic systems, and ensuring optimal growing conditions for crops. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong observational skills, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn advanced controlled-environment agriculture techniques. This position plays an important role in maintaining crop quality, system efficiency, and overall productivity within the farm.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain hydroponic systems including nutrient reservoirs, pumps, and irrigation lines.

  • Prepare and mix nutrient solutions according to crop requirements.

  • Track and record environmental conditions such as pH levels, EC levels, temperature, humidity, and light exposure.

  • Inspect plants regularly for signs of nutrient deficiencies, pests, or diseases.

  • Assist with seeding, transplanting, pruning, harvesting, and packaging crops.

  • Clean and sanitize growing trays, equipment, and work areas to maintain hygiene standards.

  • Support crop scheduling and production planning.

  • Maintain accurate records of crop growth, harvest yield, and system performance.

  • Collaborate with farm supervisors to troubleshoot system issues and optimize plant growth.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of hydroponic farming or controlled-environment agriculture.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Good problem-solving skills and observational ability.

  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.

  • Physical ability to lift light equipment and work in greenhouse or indoor farming environments.

  • Strong commitment to sustainability and food quality standards.


Experience

  • Previous experience in hydroponics, greenhouse operations, agriculture, horticulture, or plant science is preferred.

  • Entry-level candidates with training or certification in agriculture, botany, or environmental science are encouraged to apply.

  • Hands-on experience with irrigation systems, nutrient management, or crop monitoring is considered an advantage.


Working Hours

  • Part-time position.

  • Flexible shifts ranging from 15 to 25 hours per week.

  • May include morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on crop cycles and operational needs.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of plant growth cycles and nutrient management.

  • Ability to interpret pH and electrical conductivity (EC) readings.

  • Familiarity with hydroponic systems such as NFT, DWC, or drip irrigation setups is beneficial.

  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols.

  • Good communication and reporting skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
