Global MNC Tech is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Weekend Smart Home IoT Troubleshooter to support our growing base of smart home technology users. In this role, you will provide remote technical assistance for customers experiencing issues with their connected devices, including smart speakers, home security systems, lighting controls, thermostats, and other Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, a passion for emerging technologies, and excellent communication skills to guide customers through technical solutions. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy solving problems and helping customers maximize the benefits of their smart home ecosystems. As a weekend-focused role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring seamless customer experiences during peak support periods.
Provide technical troubleshooting support for smart home IoT devices via chat, email, and phone channels.
Diagnose connectivity, configuration, and device compatibility issues across multiple smart home platforms.
Assist customers with device setup, firmware updates, and system integration.
Guide users through step-by-step solutions for network, mobile app, and device performance issues.
Escalate complex technical cases to engineering or advanced support teams when necessary.
Maintain detailed documentation of support interactions and technical resolutions.
Monitor recurring technical issues and provide feedback for product and service improvements.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering professional and efficient support.
Stay up to date with the latest IoT technologies, smart home devices, and industry trends.
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of IoT ecosystems, smart home devices, and wireless networking.
Familiarity with Wi-Fi networks, routers, mobile applications, and device pairing processes.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
Customer-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working in a remote support environment.
1–3 years of experience in technical support, IT help desk, or IoT device troubleshooting.
Experience supporting smart home devices such as smart speakers, cameras, lighting systems, or thermostats is highly preferred.
Prior experience with remote customer support platforms or ticketing systems is advantageous.
Part-time weekend role (Saturday and Sunday).
Typical shifts range between 6–8 hours per day, depending on operational requirements.
Flexible scheduling may be available based on business needs.

Knowledge of IoT protocols, home automation systems, and wireless technologies.
Ability to quickly diagnose connectivity and device synchronization issues.
