Startup Inno is seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Part-Time Boutique Handloom Consultant to support boutique retail operations specializing in traditional and contemporary handloom textiles. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for handwoven fabrics, regional weaving traditions, and boutique retail experiences. This role involves advising customers, curating handloom collections, and providing expert insights on fabrics such as cotton, silk, linen, and artisanal weaves.
As a consultant, you will play a key role in educating customers about handloom heritage, assisting them in selecting authentic products, and helping the boutique maintain a unique and culturally rich shopping environment. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about textiles, sustainable fashion, and traditional craftsmanship.
Provide expert consultation to customers regarding handloom fabrics, weaving styles, and textile care.
Assist clients in selecting suitable handloom garments, sarees, scarves, and home textile products.
Educate customers about the origin, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of various handloom products.
Support boutique merchandising by helping curate seasonal and thematic handloom collections.
Maintain product knowledge regarding new arrivals, weaving techniques, and fabric quality.
Assist with inventory checks and product organization within the boutique.
Provide styling suggestions for customers seeking traditional or fusion looks.
Build strong relationships with returning clients and boutique patrons.
Support promotional events, exhibitions, or handloom awareness campaigns organized by the boutique.
Strong knowledge of handloom textiles and traditional Indian weaving techniques.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
Passion for sustainable fashion, artisan crafts, and cultural heritage.
Ability to explain complex textile details in a simple and engaging manner.
Strong attention to detail and aesthetic sense.
Basic retail sales and merchandising skills.
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in boutique retail, textile consultancy, handloom sales, or fashion advisory roles.
Prior experience working with handloom products, artisan collectives, or textile exhibitions is highly preferred.
Background in fashion design, textile design, or traditional crafts will be an added advantage.
Part-Time Role
Flexible schedule with approximately 20–25 hours per week.
Weekend availability may be required based on boutique footfall and events.
Shift timings may include afternoon or evening boutique hours.
Understanding of regional Indian handloom traditions and fabric varieties.
Ability to differentiate between authentic handloom products and machine-made fabrics.
Knowledge of textile care, storage, and maintenance.
Strong presentation and storytelling ability when explaining textile heritage.
Ability to work independently while maintaining boutique standards.
Basic digital skills for handling POS systems or inventory records.
