Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Online Data Science Mentor specializing in Python and SQL to guide aspiring data professionals through practical learning and career development. In this role, you will mentor students and early-career professionals in data science concepts, helping them build strong analytical, programming, and problem-solving skills.

As a mentor, you will provide structured guidance, conduct live sessions, review projects, and help learners apply Python and SQL to real-world data problems. This role is ideal for experienced data professionals who enjoy teaching, coaching, and contributing to the growth of the next generation of data scientists in a flexible online environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct live online mentoring sessions focused on Python programming, SQL queries, and data analysis techniques.

• Guide learners through practical data science projects including data cleaning, visualization, and exploratory data analysis.

• Review and provide constructive feedback on student assignments, coding exercises, and projects.

• Support students in understanding core data science concepts such as statistics, data modeling, and data pipelines.

• Assist learners with troubleshooting coding errors and optimizing SQL queries.

• Encourage best practices in coding, data handling, and analytical thinking.

• Track student progress and provide personalized learning recommendations.

• Participate in curriculum improvements and contribute ideas to enhance the learning experience.

• Stay updated with emerging tools and trends in data science and analytics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, or similar libraries).

• Advanced knowledge of SQL including complex queries, joins, aggregations, and database design concepts.

• Understanding of fundamental data science and analytics concepts.

• Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.

• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.

• Ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear and simple way.

• Comfortable conducting online sessions using digital collaboration tools.

• Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field (Masters preferred).

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in data science, data analytics, or a related technical role.

• Prior teaching, mentoring, or training experience is highly preferred.

• Experience working with real-world datasets and solving analytical problems.

• Exposure to industry data science workflows and tools.

Working Hours

• Flexible remote working schedule.

• Part-time or contract-based engagement.

• Typically 10–20 hours per week, depending on student cohorts and mentoring sessions.

• Evening or weekend availability may be required to accommodate global learners.
