Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly detail-oriented Remote Proofreader – Academic & Legal Documentation Specialist to join our global editorial team. This full-time, work-from-home position is ideal for professionals with a strong command of the English language and experience proofreading complex academic papers, research materials, legal documents, and professional reports.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring all written materials meet the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, grammar, and formatting. You will collaborate with writers, legal teams, researchers, and editorial staff to review documents before publication or submission, ensuring they are polished and error-free.
This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy meticulous work, possess excellent language skills, and can maintain consistency across a wide range of documentation.
Proofread and edit academic papers, research articles, legal documents, reports, and corporate publications.
Review content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, syntax, and formatting consistency.
Ensure documents comply with style guides such as APA, MLA, Chicago, or legal citation standards.
Identify inconsistencies, factual errors, and unclear wording.
Collaborate with writers, editors, and legal teams to improve document clarity and accuracy.
Verify references, citations, and formatting in academic and legal documents.
Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive or proprietary information.
Deliver high-quality work within established deadlines.
Ensure consistent tone and professional language across all materials.
Provide constructive editorial feedback when necessary.
Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Law, Linguistics, or a related field.
Exceptional English grammar, punctuation, and editing skills.
Strong understanding of academic and legal writing standards.
Ability to detect subtle grammatical errors and inconsistencies.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency with editing tools such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and track changes.
Familiarity with academic citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
2–5 years of professional proofreading or editorial experience.
Prior experience working with academic journals, research publications, legal firms, or documentation teams preferred.
Experience proofreading legal contracts, policy documents, or scholarly manuscripts is a significant advantage.
Previous remote work experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
