Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a results-driven Remote Sustainability Manager – Carbon Accounting (SaaS) to lead and scale our carbon management initiatives. This role will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and optimizing carbon accounting frameworks within our SaaS platform while supporting clients in achieving their sustainability and net-zero goals.

The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting standards with strong analytical capabilities and experience working in technology-enabled environments. You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success teams to deliver high-impact sustainability solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of carbon accounting methodologies aligned with global standards (e.g., GHG Protocol).

• Manage Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions calculations for clients across multiple industries.

• Partner with product and engineering teams to enhance carbon accounting features within the SaaS platform.

• Support customers with emissions data collection, validation, and reporting best practices.

• Develop sustainability dashboards, reports, and insights for internal and external stakeholders.

• Monitor regulatory developments and emerging frameworks related to climate disclosure and ESG reporting.

• Provide subject matter expertise during client onboarding and ongoing account management.

• Drive process automation and data quality improvements across carbon data workflows.

• Contribute to thought leadership content such as whitepapers, webinars, and sustainability guidance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field (Masters preferred).

• Strong knowledge of the GHG Protocol and carbon accounting principles.

• Experience working with sustainability or ESG software platforms (preferably SaaS).

• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or BI platforms.

• Familiarity with climate reporting frameworks (CDP, TCFD, SBTi, etc.).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced remote environment.

Experience

• 4–7+ years of experience in carbon accounting, climate strategy, or corporate sustainability.

• Proven experience supporting Scope 3 emissions calculations is highly preferred.

• Background working in a SaaS, climate tech, or consulting environment is a strong advantage.

• Experience working with global or multi-industry clients is desirable.

Working Hours

• Fully remote role with flexible scheduling.
