Startup Inno is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Freelance Bookkeeper to support our growing portfolio of small business clients. This role is ideal for a self-motivated accounting professional who is highly proficient in Xero and QuickBooks and enjoys working independently in a flexible, remote environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and providing timely financial insights that help clients make informed business decisions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple small business clients.
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
Prepare basic financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Ensure proper categorization of transactions in Xero and QuickBooks.
Assist with payroll processing and tax preparation support when required.
Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
Communicate regularly with clients to gather financial information and provide updates.
Support process improvements and bookkeeping best practices.
Strong hands-on experience with Xero and/or QuickBooks.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum 1–3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (freelance or full-time).
Proven experience working with small business finances preferred.
Prior remote or freelance experience is an advantage.
Experience in handling multi-client portfolios is desirable.
