Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Consultant to support critical security initiatives on a project basis. This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who can assess vulnerabilities, strengthen security posture, and provide strategic guidance to protect digital assets. The consultant will work closely with engineering, IT, and leadership teams to identify risks and implement robust cybersecurity controls.

This is a remote, project-based engagement offering competitive hourly compensation and flexible collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.

• Identify security gaps across networks, applications, and cloud environments.

• Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, and best practices.

• Provide risk assessments and remediation roadmaps aligned with business priorities.

• Support incident response activities, including investigation and containment guidance.

• Review system architectures and recommend secure design improvements.

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed security into development and operations.

• Prepare detailed technical reports and executive-level summaries.

• Provide security awareness guidance and best-practice recommendations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven expertise in cybersecurity consulting or security engineering roles.

• Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security, and application security.

• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management and penetration testing tools.

• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards.

• Solid understanding of threat modeling and risk management methodologies.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to work independently in a remote, project-driven environment.

Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related field.

• Demonstrated experience delivering security assessments or consulting engagements.

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Project-based, flexible schedule.

• Availability for periodic stakeholder meetings across time zones as required.

• Estimated workload will vary depending on project scope and milestones.
