Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Applied AI Scientist specializing in Fraud Detection and Cybersecurity to join our advanced analytics team. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy intelligent machine learning and AI-driven solutions that proactively detect fraudulent activities, mitigate cyber threats, and strengthen enterprise security posture. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with business acumen and thrives in fast-paced, data-rich environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models for fraud detection, anomaly detection, and cybersecurity threat identification.

  • Develop real-time and batch detection pipelines using large-scale structured and unstructured datasets.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, risk, and product teams to translate business problems into scalable AI solutions.

  • Implement feature engineering strategies for behavioral analytics, transaction monitoring, and threat intelligence.

  • Monitor model performance, conduct model validation, and continuously improve detection accuracy while minimizing false positives.

  • Build explainable AI solutions to support compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

  • Research and prototype advanced techniques such as graph analytics, network analysis, and adversarial machine learning.

  • Deploy and maintain models in production using MLOps best practices.

  • Prepare technical documentation and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).

  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, anomaly detection, and classification techniques.

  • Experience working with large datasets using SQL and distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark).

  • Knowledge of fraud detection methodologies and cybersecurity concepts.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


Experience

  • 3–6 years of hands-on experience in applied machine learning, preferably in fraud detection, fintech risk, or cybersecurity domains.

  • Proven track record of deploying ML models into production environments.

  • Experience with real-time streaming systems (Kafka, Flink, or similar) is highly desirable.

  • Prior exposure to graph-based fraud detection or network security analytics is a plus.


Working Hours

  • Full-time position.

  • Standard business hours with flexibility to support global teams when required.

  • Hybrid or remote options available based on project needs and location.

  • Deep understanding of statistical modeling and predictive analytics.

  • Ability to work with imbalanced datasets and rare event detection.
