Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeper with strong expertise in Xero and/or QuickBooks, and practical experience handling Australian and/or US tax and accounting standards. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a remote environment and enjoys working with international clients across multiple industries.

As a Remote Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily bookkeeping operations, and ensuring compliance with local tax regulations. You will play a critical role in supporting business decision-making by providing timely and reliable financial data.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients.

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including data entry, reconciliations, and journal entries.

  • Prepare and reconcile bank, credit card, and loan statements.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Handle payroll processing and payroll tax filings where applicable.

  • Prepare and assist with BAS, GST, VAT, sales tax, and income tax reporting (AU/US).

  • Support external accountants and auditors during audits and tax filings.

  • Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues efficiently.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations.

  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding financial queries and reports.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certification or proven expertise in Xero and/or QuickBooks.

  • Strong understanding of Australian and/or US accounting principles and tax regulations.

  • Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping best practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setup.


Experience

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Assistant.

  • Proven experience working with AU or US clients.

  • Prior experience in remote or virtual accounting roles is highly preferred.

  • Experience in public accounting, outsourcing firms, or BPO environments is an advantage.


Working Hours

  • Flexible working hours with overlap required for AU or US business hours.

  • Full-time or long-term contract engagement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

  • Understanding of tax compliance, payroll taxes, and statutory reporting.

  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.

  • High level of confidentiality and ethical standards.

  • Ability to adapt to different accounting systems and client requirements.

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to learn new tools quickly.
