Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of large-scale backend systems and microservices.

• Design high-performance APIs and data pipelines for mission-critical applications.

• Drive technical strategy, system scalability, reliability, and performance optimization.

• Act as a technical mentor for senior and mid-level engineers across teams.

• Conduct architectural reviews and influence engineering best practices.

• Implement fault-tolerant, highly available distributed systems.

• Optimize databases, caching layers, and messaging systems.

• Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure design.

• Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity across all backend services.

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and lead root cause analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong expertise in backend development using languages such as Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or Scala.

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

• Hands-on experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).

• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with system design for high availability and low latency.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.

Experience

• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.

• 3+ years in a Staff, Principal, or Senior Lead engineering role.

• Proven experience designing systems at scale (millions of users or high-volume data).

• Experience working in remote or distributed teams is highly desirable.
