Startup Inno is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Remote System Administrator – Cloud Infrastructure Ops to manage, maintain, and optimize our cloud-based infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, performance, security, and scalability of our systems that support business operations and product delivery.
As a System Administrator, you will work closely with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to design, implement, and maintain reliable cloud environments. You will be responsible for system health, automation, monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement of infrastructure processes in a fast-paced startup environment.
Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security using modern monitoring and alerting tools.
Configure, deploy, and maintain servers, virtual machines, containers, and storage systems.
Automate infrastructure and system processes using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Perform system updates, patching, and upgrades to ensure reliability and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and system-level issues.
Implement and enforce security best practices, access controls, and backup strategies.
Support CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps teams for deployments.
Maintain documentation for system architecture, processes, and configurations.
Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proficiency in Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
Experience with virtualization and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls, load balancers).
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch).
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability systems.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
3+ years of experience in system administration or cloud operations.
Hands-on experience managing production cloud environments.
Prior experience in a startup or fast-paced technology environment is a plus.
Experience supporting distributed teams and remote infrastructure operations.
Full-time, remote position.
Flexible working hours with overlap required for team collaboration.
On-call availability may be required for critical system incidents.
