Startup Inno is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Fractional Operations Lead to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in optimizing their operational performance. This remote, consulting-based role is ideal for a seasoned operations professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys working with multiple businesses across different industries.
As a Fractional Operations Lead, you will act as a trusted advisor and hands-on partner to founders and leadership teams, helping them streamline processes, scale operations, implement systems, and drive sustainable growth. You will play a pivotal role in diagnosing operational gaps, designing solutions, and ensuring execution excellence without the constraints of a traditional full-time role.
Partner with SME founders and executives to assess current operational structures and identify improvement opportunities.
Design and implement scalable operational frameworks, workflows, and best practices.
Lead cross-functional initiatives involving operations, finance, HR, customer success, and technology.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency and business performance.
Optimize resource allocation, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Support change management and process transformation initiatives.
Act as an interim or fractional Head of Operations where required.
Provide strategic recommendations for growth, market expansion, and operational maturity.
Mentor internal teams and build operational capabilities within client organizations.
Strong background in business operations, management consulting, or strategy.
Proven ability to work with startups and SMEs in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Experience implementing operational systems, tools, and frameworks.
High level of business acumen and commercial awareness.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Exceptional presentation and documentation skills.
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in operations leadership, management consulting, or business transformation roles.
Prior experience working with startups, scale-ups, or SMEs is highly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of leading operational improvements and scaling businesses.
Experience in remote or distributed work environments is an advantage.
Flexible working hours based on client needs and project scope.
Typically 20–30 hours per week, depending on engagement.
Fully remote with occasional virtual meetings across global time zones.
Deep understanding of operational strategy, process design, and organizational effectiveness.
Knowledge of business functions including finance, HR, sales operations, and customer experience.
Ability to translate complex business problems into practical, actionable solutions.
Strong leadership and influencing skills without formal authority.
High adaptability and comfort working across multiple industries and business models.
Proficiency in digital tools, project management platforms, and collaboration software.
