Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Technical Translator (German to English) to support our growing portfolio of technology-driven projects. This role is ideal for a professional linguist with a strong technical background who can accurately translate complex German technical content into clear, precise, and culturally appropriate English.

As a Remote Technical Translator, you will play a critical role in enabling seamless communication between international teams, ensuring that technical documents, product manuals, software content, engineering reports, and business communications are accessible to global audiences. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and content teams to maintain consistency, accuracy, and quality across all translated materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical documents from German to English, including software documentation, user manuals, engineering specifications, training materials, and white papers.

• Ensure high linguistic accuracy while preserving technical meaning, terminology, and context.

• Proofread and edit translated content to maintain clarity, consistency, and quality standards.

• Work with subject matter experts to understand complex technical concepts.

• Maintain and update translation glossaries and terminology databases.

• Use Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools to manage translation workflows efficiently.

• Meet project deadlines while managing multiple translation tasks simultaneously.

• Ensure compliance with company style guides and localization standards.

• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve content quality and readability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken).

• Strong understanding of technical terminology in fields such as IT, software, engineering, or emerging technologies.

• Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills in English.

• Proficiency in translation tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat, or similar).

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• High level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Experience

• Minimum 2–4 years of professional experience in technical translation (German to English).

• Proven track record of translating technical or specialized content.

• Experience working with startups, SaaS companies, or technology firms is highly desirable.

• Certification in translation or linguistics (e.g., ATA, ITI, or equivalent) is a plus.

Working Hours

• Fully remote position.

• Flexible working hours with availability to collaborate across international time zones.

• Project-based or full-time engagement, depending on business needs.

• Expected commitment: 30–40 hours per week for full-time roles.
