Global MNC Tech is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Planner – Remote Resource Consent to join our growing environmental and sustainability consulting team. This role is ideal for a professional with strong expertise in environmental planning, regulatory frameworks, and resource consent processes who is looking to work in a fully remote, globally collaborative environment.
As an Environmental Planner, you will play a critical role in supporting infrastructure, energy, urban development, and environmental projects by managing resource consent applications, preparing planning documentation, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, legal teams, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality, compliant planning solutions.
Prepare, review, and manage resource consent applications and supporting documentation.
Conduct environmental impact assessments and planning evaluations.
Interpret and apply local and international environmental legislation, policies, and planning frameworks.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, councils, and stakeholders throughout the consent process.
Provide strategic planning advice to internal project teams and clients.
Prepare reports, technical assessments, and compliance documentation.
Support project approvals by addressing regulatory queries and conditions.
Monitor consent conditions and ensure ongoing compliance.
Contribute to environmental sustainability initiatives and best-practice planning approaches.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Strong understanding of environmental legislation and resource consent frameworks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prepare high-quality technical reports and planning documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and planning documentation tools.
Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Minimum 3–6 years of experience in environmental planning or resource consent roles.
Proven experience working with regulatory bodies and planning authorities.
Experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, environmental consulting, or urban development projects is highly desirable.
Previous remote or hybrid working experience is an advantage.
