Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Community Moderator to join our Safety & Trust team. This role is focused on maintaining a safe, engaging, and inclusive online environment for our global community. As a moderator, you will monitor user activity, enforce community guidelines, and work proactively to identify and resolve potential risks, ensuring that our platform remains a trusted space for all users. This is a fully remote position based in Cape Town, offering the opportunity to contribute to the safety and growth of a global technology company.
Monitor and moderate user-generated content across multiple platforms in real-time.
Enforce community guidelines, policies, and terms of service consistently and fairly.
Identify and escalate potential safety concerns, including harassment, scams, or harmful content.
Collaborate with internal Safety & Trust teams to implement proactive moderation strategies.
Respond to user inquiries and complaints in a timely, professional, and empathetic manner.
Maintain accurate records of moderation actions and user reports.
Contribute to the development and refinement of moderation policies and processes.
Stay updated on trends, emerging threats, and best practices in online community moderation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing high volumes of content.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess potential risks.
Familiarity with online platforms, social media, and community moderation tools.
Ability to work independently and as part of a global, distributed team.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in community moderation, content review, or online safety roles.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume digital environment is preferred.
Familiarity with safety and trust frameworks, content policies, and online compliance standards is a plus.
Full-time, remote position based in Cape Town.
Must be able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to cover 24/7 community needs.
In-depth understanding of online community behavior and digital safety risks.
Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data and trends to improve moderation processes.
High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
Technologically adept, comfortable learning and using new software and moderation tools.
