Startup Inno is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Remote Grant Researcher – EU Innovation & Green Funds to support our mission of accelerating innovation and sustainability-driven projects across Europe. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about research, public funding, and the green transition, and who thrives in a remote, fast-paced, and international environment.
As a Grant Researcher, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and tracking relevant European funding opportunities, particularly within EU programs such as Horizon Europe, LIFE, EIC, Erasmus+, and other green and innovation-focused funding instruments. You will play a critical role in enabling our clients and internal teams to access strategic funding opportunities that drive impactful projects.
Conduct in-depth research on EU, national, and regional funding programs related to innovation, sustainability, climate action, digital transformation, and green technologies.
Monitor calls for proposals from EU institutions and funding bodies (e.g., European Commission, EIC, Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg).
Identify funding opportunities aligned with client projects and Startup Innos strategic focus areas.
Prepare structured grant opportunity summaries, including eligibility criteria, deadlines, budgets, and evaluation priorities.
Maintain and update internal grant databases and funding trackers.
Collaborate with consultants, project managers, and proposal writers to support successful grant applications.
Analyze policy trends and funding priorities within the EU innovation and sustainability ecosystem.
Support pre-screening of projects for funding eligibility and strategic fit.
Prepare regular reports and insights on funding landscapes and upcoming opportunities.
Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple research tasks remotely.
Familiarity with EU funding programs and public funding mechanisms.
Proficiency in online research tools, databases, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Interest in sustainability, green innovation, and public policy.
2–5 years of experience in grant research, funding advisory, public sector consulting, EU projects, or similar roles.
Proven experience working with EU funding programs (Horizon Europe, LIFE, EIC, Erasmus+, Interreg, etc.).
Experience in research roles within consulting firms, NGOs, innovation hubs, or public institutions is highly desirable.
Prior experience working in a remote or international environment is a strong advantage.
