Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Data Scientist – Generative AI Ethics Research to join our remote-first research and innovation team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of responsible artificial intelligence, working on cutting-edge projects that explore the ethical, social, and technical implications of generative AI systems.

You will collaborate with data scientists, AI engineers, policy specialists, and product leaders to design, evaluate, and improve AI models with a strong focus on fairness, transparency, bias mitigation, and societal impact. This role is ideal for a data professional who is passionate about using advanced analytics and machine learning to shape ethical and trustworthy AI technologies at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct research studies on ethical challenges in generative AI, including bias, fairness, explainability, and model accountability.

• Develop and analyze datasets to assess risks, limitations, and unintended consequences of AI models.

• Build and evaluate machine learning and statistical models to measure algorithmic bias and model performance.

• Create experimental frameworks to test AI systems for ethical compliance and regulatory readiness.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, legal, product, and policy) to embed ethical principles into AI products.

• Translate complex research findings into clear insights, reports, and recommendations for stakeholders.

• Stay up to date with global AI ethics standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, AI Act, ISO standards).

• Contribute to whitepapers, research publications, and internal knowledge sharing initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong background in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Applied AI.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).

• Solid understanding of statistics, probability, and data analysis techniques.

• Knowledge of ethical AI concepts: fairness, bias detection, explainability, privacy, and responsible AI.

• Experience working with large datasets and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.

Experience

• 3+ years of professional experience in Data Science, AI Research, or Machine Learning.

• Prior experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, or policy-related research is highly desirable.

• Experience working in research-driven or innovation-focused environments is a plus.

• Exposure to academic research, peer-reviewed publications, or industry whitepapers is an advantage.
