Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking an experienced and visionary Platform Architect – API Gateway Management to lead the design, development, and governance of enterprise-grade API platforms. This role is critical in shaping our digital ecosystem by enabling secure, scalable, and high-performance API solutions that support business transformation, cloud-native applications, and system integrations across the organization.

The ideal candidate will act as a technical authority, collaborating with engineering teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to define API strategies, establish best practices, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own the enterprise API Gateway architecture and platform strategy.

• Define standards for API design, security, lifecycle management, and governance.

• Lead the implementation and optimization of API gateways (e.g., Apigee, Kong, MuleSoft, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management).

• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of API infrastructure.

• Establish CI/CD pipelines for API deployment and versioning.

• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate APIs with microservices and cloud platforms.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform and development teams.

• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and frameworks for API management.

• Ensure compliance with security standards, including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and data protection.

• Drive API documentation, developer portals, and onboarding processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong expertise in API architecture and enterprise integration patterns.

• Hands-on experience with major API gateway platforms.

• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and event-driven architectures.

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience with microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and service mesh.

• Strong knowledge of security protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, TLS).

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in software or platform architecture.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience designing and managing API platforms.

• Proven track record in large-scale enterprise environments.

• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
