Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Platform Engineer – Cloud Governance Lead to drive the design, implementation, and enforcement of cloud governance frameworks across our enterprise platforms. This role is critical in ensuring that our cloud environments are secure, compliant, cost-efficient, and aligned with business objectives.

As a senior member of the Platform Engineering team, you will work closely with Cloud Architects, Security, DevOps, and Business Stakeholders to define governance policies, automate controls, and establish best practices for multi-cloud operations. You will play a key role in enabling scalable, resilient, and compliant cloud platforms that support innovation at speed.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud governance strategies for AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments.

• Define and maintain cloud policies related to security, compliance, identity, cost management, and resource usage.

• Establish standards for cloud architecture, landing zones, and shared platform services.

• Lead the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks to enforce governance controls.

• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (ISO, SOC2, GDPR, etc.).

• Implement FinOps practices to optimize cloud spend and resource utilization.

• Build and maintain automated guardrails using policy-as-code tools.

• Monitor cloud environments and generate governance reports and dashboards for leadership.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to platform and DevOps engineers.

• Drive continuous improvement of cloud governance processes and tooling.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong expertise in one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM.

• Experience with cloud governance and policy tools (AWS Control Tower, Azure Policy, GCP Organization Policies).

• Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and compliance principles.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar).

• Familiarity with FinOps frameworks and cost optimization strategies.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps roles.

• 3+ years in a leadership or senior technical role focused on cloud governance or architecture.

• Proven experience designing governance frameworks in large-scale enterprise environments.

• Experience working in regulated industries is a strong plus (finance, healthcare, telecom, etc.).

Working Hours

• Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
