Global MNC Tech is seeking an experienced and proactive Cloud Operations – Disaster Recovery Planning professional to join our global technology operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the resilience, availability, and recoverability of our cloud-based infrastructure and business-critical systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and continuously improving disaster recovery (DR) strategies across multi-cloud environments. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to ensure that the organization is prepared for any disruption and can recover systems within defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
This is a strategic and hands-on role suited for professionals who have a strong background in cloud operations, business continuity, and risk management.
Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud-based systems.
Implement DR solutions across public and private cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments).
Define and manage RTO and RPO targets for critical applications and services.
Conduct regular DR testing, simulations, and failover exercises; document results and improvement plans.
Monitor cloud infrastructure and ensure high availability, redundancy, and fault tolerance.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with data protection and regulatory standards.
Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and single points of failure in cloud architectures.
Automate backup, replication, and recovery processes using infrastructure-as-code and scripting tools.
Prepare executive-level reports on DR readiness, risk exposure, and compliance metrics.
Act as the primary point of contact during major incidents and disaster recovery events.
Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
In-depth understanding of disaster recovery frameworks and best practices.
Experience with backup and recovery tools (e.g., AWS Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Veeam, Zerto).
Knowledge of high availability architectures, load balancing, and replication strategies.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform, Ansible).
Solid understanding of networking, storage, virtualization, and security concepts.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Relevant certifications are a plus (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, ITIL, CISM, CISSP).
4+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering.
2+ years of hands-on experience in disaster recovery planning or business continuity roles.
Experience working in large enterprise or global IT environments is highly desirable.
Proven experience leading DR testing and real incident recovery scenarios.
Full-time position (40 hours per week).
