Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Remote Sustainability Manager – Carbon Accounting (SaaS) to lead our environmental impact and climate strategy initiatives. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing carbon accounting frameworks that enable organizations to measure, reduce, and report their greenhouse gas emissions effectively through our SaaS platform.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, data science, and customer success to ensure our sustainability solutions are accurate, compliant with global standards, and aligned with evolving regulatory and market requirements. This role is ideal for a sustainability professional passionate about climate action, data-driven decision-making, and building scalable digital solutions that create real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of carbon accounting methodologies within the SaaS platform.

• Design and implement corporate and product-level carbon footprint measurement systems (Scope 1, 2, and 3).

• Ensure compliance with international sustainability and reporting standards such as GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, TCFD, and SBTi.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate sustainability requirements into technical product features.

• Analyze emissions data, generate insights, and provide recommendations for emissions reduction strategies.

• Support clients in understanding carbon metrics, sustainability dashboards, and regulatory reporting needs.

• Conduct lifecycle assessments (LCA) and environmental impact analyses.

• Stay up to date with global climate regulations, ESG trends, and sustainability best practices.

• Prepare sustainability reports, whitepapers, and internal documentation.

• Act as a subject matter expert and internal advisor on sustainability and carbon management topics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Climate Studies, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of carbon accounting principles and greenhouse gas measurement frameworks.

• Experience working with ESG data, sustainability metrics, and environmental reporting tools.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.

• Ability to translate complex sustainability concepts into practical business solutions.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Proficiency in digital tools, spreadsheets, dashboards, and sustainability software platforms.

• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Experience

• 4–7 years of professional experience in sustainability, carbon management, ESG, or environmental consulting.

• Proven experience in carbon footprint analysis and emissions reporting.

• Experience working in a SaaS, technology, or digital product environment is highly desirable.

• Prior experience supporting corporate sustainability programs or ESG strategies is a strong advantage.

Working Hours

• Fully remote position.

• Flexible working hours with core collaboration time aligned to European or global business hours.

• Full-time role (40 hours per week).

• In-depth knowledge of sustainability standards (GHG Protocol, CDP, TCFD, SBTi, ISO).

• Strong understanding of climate change policies, ESG frameworks, and regulatory landscapes.
