Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Remote Sustainability Manager – Carbon Accounting to lead and scale our sustainability and environmental impact initiatives within a fast-growing SaaS environment. This role is ideal for a sustainability professional who is passionate about climate action, data-driven decision-making, and helping organizations measure, manage, and reduce their carbon footprint.

As a key member of our sustainability leadership team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing carbon accounting frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting enterprise clients in achieving their ESG and net-zero goals through our digital platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of carbon accounting strategies aligned with global sustainability standards.

• Oversee Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions tracking and reporting across client portfolios.

• Implement carbon measurement methodologies using recognized frameworks such as GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and SBTi.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to enhance carbon data features within the SaaS platform.

• Provide expert guidance to customers on sustainability reporting, ESG compliance, and decarbonization strategies.

• Analyze carbon data and generate actionable insights and sustainability reports for stakeholders.

• Stay up to date with evolving environmental regulations, climate policies, and reporting standards.

• Support business development teams by contributing sustainability expertise during client onboarding and demos.

• Develop internal sustainability KPIs and track Startup Innos own environmental performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of carbon accounting principles and climate frameworks.

• Proficiency in sustainability data analysis and reporting tools.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to translate complex environmental data into business insights.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working with SaaS platforms or digital sustainability tools.

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

• Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.

Experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Policy, Engineering, or a related field.

• 3–6 years of professional experience in sustainability, ESG, carbon management, or environmental consulting.

• Hands-on experience with carbon reporting standards (GHG Protocol, CDP, TCFD, SBTi, or similar).

• Experience working with corporate sustainability teams or climate-focused technology companies is highly desirable.
