Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) to join our dynamic cloud infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our enterprise databases across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. This role combines deep database expertise with DevOps best practices, including automation, monitoring, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, to drive operational excellence and support high-availability systems critical to our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database solutions to support enterprise applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database deployment, updates, and configuration changes.

• Automate database monitoring, alerting, and recovery processes using advanced tools and scripts.

• Collaborate with software engineering, cloud, and operations teams to design scalable and resilient data architectures.

• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex database issues and provide proactive solutions.

• Define and enforce database best practices, including security, backup, recovery, and patching strategies.

• Evaluate and implement new database technologies and tools to optimize performance and efficiency.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on database operations, performance tuning, and reliability strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or NoSQL databases.

• Strong experience in DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).

• Expertise in database performance tuning, scaling, and high-availability configurations.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) for automation and monitoring.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Cloud-native monitoring solutions.

• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and disaster recovery strategies for enterprise databases.

Experience

• Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in database administration, DevOps, or site reliability engineering roles.

• At least 3 years in a senior or lead role managing complex, enterprise-level database systems in cloud environments.

• Experience in large-scale distributed systems is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Full-time position, standard 40–45 hours per week, with flexibility for urgent on-call duties.

• Must be available for rotation-based on-call support for critical database incidents in a 24/7 environment.
