Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Migration Engineer – Legacy to AWS to join our growing technology transformation team. This role is critical in driving large-scale modernization initiatives, migrating legacy on-premise systems and applications to Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environments. The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise architects, DevOps teams, security professionals, and business stakeholders to design, plan, and execute secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud migration strategies.
As a Cloud Migration Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in assessing existing infrastructure, identifying technical risks, and implementing best-in-class cloud solutions that improve system reliability, reduce operational costs, and enable digital innovation across the organization.
Lead end-to-end cloud migration projects from legacy infrastructure to AWS.
Assess existing on-premise applications and systems to determine cloud readiness.
Design and implement migration strategies such as re-hosting, re-platforming, and re-architecting.
Build and manage AWS environments using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
Develop automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines for migrated workloads.
Ensure cloud security, compliance, governance, and best practices are followed.
Perform testing, validation, and performance optimization post-migration.
Provide technical documentation and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues and incidents.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture.
Solid understanding of cloud migration frameworks and methodologies.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with Linux and Windows server environments.
Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Terraform.
Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, Load Balancers, Firewalls).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure, or system administration.
At least 2+ years of direct experience in AWS cloud migration projects.
Experience working in enterprise-scale environments with legacy systems.
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps) are highly desirable.
Full-time position (40 hours per week).
Standard business hours with flexibility based on project needs.
Occasional on-call or extended hours during critical migration phases.
