Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer – Linux Administration & Scripting to join our global technology operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure platforms. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and managing Linux-based environments while driving operational excellence through scripting, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will act as a technical leader, working closely with development, security, and cloud teams to build resilient systems that support business-critical applications across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly available Linux-based infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages to streamline operations.

• Manage system performance, capacity planning, patching, and upgrades for Linux servers.

• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps best practices for build, release, and deployment processes.

• Monitor system health and troubleshoot complex production issues with a proactive mindset.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, security, and scalability.

• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Document system architecture, operational procedures, and best practices.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on DevOps methodologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS).

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.

• Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.

• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and system hardening.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Nagios, or similar.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Experience

• 6–10 years of experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or Linux Administration.

• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale Linux environments.

• Prior experience in automation and infrastructure-as-code projects.

• Experience working in agile or fast-paced enterprise environments.

Working Hours

• Full-time position (40 hours per week).

• Flexible working hours with overlap required for global collaboration.

• On-call rotation may be required for critical system support.

• Remote or hybrid work options depending on location and business needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and system internals.

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD, and automation strategies.
