Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cloud Operations Engineer – 24/7 Monitoring to join our global IT operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of our cloud-based platforms and services across multiple regions. You will act as the first line of defense in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents, working closely with engineering, security, and DevOps teams to maintain a seamless digital experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications 24/7 using advanced monitoring and alerting tools.

  • Proactively detect, analyze, and resolve system incidents, outages, and performance issues.

  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and document incidents with detailed reports and recommendations.

  • Respond to alerts, tickets, and service requests within defined SLAs.

  • Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and security teams to implement preventive measures and automation.

  • Execute routine operational tasks such as backups, patching, upgrades, and health checks.

  • Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response bridges during critical events.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and efficiency.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).

  • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows server environments.

  • Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, load balancing, firewalls).

  • Experience with ticketing and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy).

  • Basic scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

  • Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in Cloud Operations, IT Operations, NOC, or SRE roles.

  • Experience working in a 24/7 operations or support environment is highly preferred.

  • Exposure to large-scale, distributed systems is an advantage.


Working Hours

  • This is a 24/7 rotational shift role, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per business requirements.

  • Flexible shift patterns with adequate compensatory offs and shift allowances.

  • On-call availability may be required for critical incidents.

  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, system monitoring, and incident management processes.

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in high-availability environments.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in cross-functional, global teams.

  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

  • Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and tools.
