Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Platform Architect – Internal Developer Portal (IDP) to lead the design, development, and evolution of our enterprise-wide internal developer platform. This role is critical in enabling engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate software efficiently, securely, and at scale.

As a Lead Platform Architect, you will define the architectural strategy for the Internal Developer Portal, acting as a bridge between development, operations, security, and business stakeholders. You will champion platform engineering best practices, promote self-service capabilities, and ensure the platform delivers exceptional developer experience (DevEx) while meeting enterprise standards for reliability, performance, and compliance.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, strong architectural vision, and the ability to influence across large, complex organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end architecture of the Internal Developer Portal (IDP).

• Design scalable, modular, and extensible platform solutions aligned with business and engineering needs.

• Lead the implementation of self-service capabilities for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, observability, and service onboarding.

• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, SRE, security, and product teams to ensure seamless integration.

• Establish architectural standards, design principles, and best practices for platform engineering.

• Evaluate and integrate tools such as Backstage, GitHub/GitLab, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native services.

• Drive adoption of the platform through documentation, training, and developer advocacy.

• Ensure platform security, compliance, and governance in line with enterprise policies.

• Mentor and guide senior engineers and architects within the platform team.

• Continuously assess platform performance and developer experience, driving improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong expertise in platform engineering and internal developer platforms.

• Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and microservices architecture.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).

• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.

• Experience with service catalogs, developer portals (e.g., Backstage), and API management.

• Excellent knowledge of system design, distributed systems, and scalability principles.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or systems architecture.

• 4+ years in a senior or lead architectural role.

• Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale platforms in enterprise environments.

• Experience working in Agile and DevOps-driven organizations.

• Prior experience leading cross-functional technical teams is highly preferred.

Working Hours

• Full-time role, typically 40 hours per week.
