Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking an experienced and visionary Principal Platform Engineer – Developer Experience (DevEx) to lead the design and evolution of our internal engineering platforms. This strategic role focuses on enabling product teams to build, test, and deploy software faster, safer, and with greater confidence.

As a Principal Engineer, you will operate at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and developer productivity. You will be responsible for defining technical direction, establishing best practices, and building scalable, self-service platforms that empower hundreds of engineers across multiple business units. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of internal developer platforms, tools, and frameworks.

• Define and implement Developer Experience (DevEx) strategy across the organization.

• Build self-service infrastructure, CI/CD platforms, and internal tooling to improve developer productivity.

• Collaborate with engineering leaders, product teams, and DevOps teams to identify bottlenecks and optimize workflows.

• Establish standards for observability, reliability, security, and performance in platform systems.

• Drive adoption of platform services through documentation, evangelism, and internal advocacy.

• Mentor senior engineers and act as a technical authority across platform and infrastructure domains.

• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and best practices aligned with business goals.

• Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and compliance with security and governance policies.

• Lead complex technical initiatives and cross-functional projects at enterprise scale.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Deep experience with platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE practices.

• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).

• Strong programming skills in one or more languages (Go, Python, Java, or TypeScript).

• Extensive knowledge of CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD).

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.

• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API design.

• Experience building internal developer tools and self-service platforms.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to influence technical strategy and engineering culture.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps roles.

• 4+ years in a senior or principal-level technical leadership role.

• Proven experience designing and scaling enterprise-grade platforms.

• Experience working in large, distributed engineering organizations.

• Prior experience driving developer productivity initiatives is highly desirable.

Working Hours

• Full-time role (40 hours per week).

• Flexible working hours with overlap across global teams.
