Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kubernetes Operations Specialist – Microservices to join our growing Cloud and Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, reliability, performance, and scalability of our Kubernetes-based microservices platforms. You will play a critical role in ensuring high availability of containerized applications, supporting development teams, and continuously improving our cloud-native infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, operate, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments (development, staging, and production).

• Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to containerized applications, networking, storage, and cluster resources.

• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes deployments.

• Collaborate with software engineering teams to support microservices architecture and deployment strategies.

• Automate operational tasks using scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

• Implement security best practices for Kubernetes, including RBAC, secrets management, and vulnerability scanning.

• Perform upgrades, patches, and configuration changes with minimal downtime.

• Document operational procedures, runbooks, and best practices.

• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, or on-prem clusters).

• Solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and container runtimes.

• Experience with microservices-based architectures.

• Proficiency in Linux system administration.

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or CloudFormation).

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.).

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience

• 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Operations, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

• At least 2 years of practical experience managing Kubernetes in production environments.

• Experience working in enterprise or large-scale distributed systems is preferred.

Working Hours

• Full-time position (40 hours per week).

• Flexible working hours with overlap across global teams.

• On-call support may be required on a rotational basis.

• Remote or hybrid work options depending on location and business needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, networking, and storage concepts.

• Ability to analyze system performance and optimize resource utilization.

• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).

• Ability to work under pressure and handle critical incidents calmly.

• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

• Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, technologies, and business requirements.
