Job Summary:

Startup Inno is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bioinformatics Data Scientist to join our cutting-edge genomic research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computational biology, data analytics, and genomics, with a passion for turning complex biological data into actionable insights. This role focuses on analyzing large-scale genomic datasets, developing predictive models, and contributing to the discovery of novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, innovative, and fast-paced environment that bridges biology, computer science, and statistical modeling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets.

  • Develop computational pipelines and algorithms for processing large-scale biological data.

  • Design and implement machine learning and statistical models for predictive genomics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biologists, clinicians, and software engineers to integrate multi-omics data.

  • Conduct quality control, normalization, and visualization of complex datasets.

  • Stay updated on the latest bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and technologies in genomics research.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Contribute to scientific publications and patent filings based on research findings.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics, or a related field.

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or Perl; experience with shell scripting and version control (Git).

  • Hands-on experience with genomic data analysis tools and frameworks (e.g., GATK, Bioconductor, Samtools, PLINK).

  • Knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques.

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and high-performance computing (HPC) environments.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.

  • Strong communication skills for explaining complex bioinformatics concepts to interdisciplinary teams.


Experience:

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or genomics research.

  • Demonstrated experience with next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis and multi-omics integration.

  • Prior experience in a research or biotech startup environment is a plus.


Working Hours:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.

  • Flexibility in work schedule for collaborative projects or urgent research deadlines.

  • Hybrid work options may be available depending on project requirements.
