Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Online Language Translator to join our remote team. This role focuses on translating content accurately and efficiently from Zulu and Xhosa into English while preserving the intended meaning, tone, and cultural context. The ideal candidate is a native or fluent speaker with strong linguistic skills, cultural awareness, and a passion for facilitating clear and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate written and spoken content from Zulu and Xhosa to English with precision and cultural sensitivity.

• Ensure translated materials maintain the original meaning, tone, and context.

• Proofread and edit translations to maintain high-quality standards.

• Collaborate with project managers and content creators to clarify ambiguities or context-specific nuances.

• Adapt translations for various content types, including digital marketing materials, documents, manuals, reports, and social media content.

• Meet project deadlines and manage multiple translation assignments simultaneously.

• Maintain confidentiality and data security for sensitive content.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Native or fluent proficiency in Zulu, Xhosa, and English.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in all languages.

• Strong understanding of cultural nuances and context in translation.

• Excellent attention to detail and high-level accuracy in translations.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

• Familiarity with translation tools and software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ) is an advantage.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of professional translation experience preferred.

• Experience in translating content for business, marketing, or technical purposes is highly desirable.

• Previous remote work or freelance translation experience is a plus.

Working Hours

• Flexible remote work schedule.

• Expected availability for team meetings and project deadlines within standard business hours (local time may apply).

• Ability to manage multiple projects with varying turnaround times.
