Startup Inno is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Virtual Personal Bookkeeper to support our growing team. This fully remote role focuses on managing and maintaining financial records in compliance with UK accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with bookkeeping software, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to work independently while ensuring timely and precise financial reporting. Maintain and reconcile day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Manage bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and ledger entries accurately.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with UK accounting standards.
Monitor cash flow, track expenses, and provide budgetary insights.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, VAT submissions, and other statutory reporting requirements.
Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and recommendations for business decisions.
Assist in preparing and reviewing payroll, if applicable.
Maintain secure and organized financial records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar financial role.
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and HMRC compliance requirements.
Proficiency in bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
Solid understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
Experience working with startups or small businesses is a plus.
Remote work experience and familiarity with online collaboration tools are preferred.
Full-time or part-time flexible remote position.
Typical working hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM UK time, with flexibility for personal schedules.
Occasional meetings or reporting deadlines may require adherence to standard UK business hours.
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
Strong ethical standards and understanding of financial confidentiality.
Capacity to adapt to new accounting software and evolving business processes.
