Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a passionate and highly knowledgeable Online Math & Science Tutor with strong expertise in the IEB and NSC South African curricula. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a digital environment and is committed to helping learners achieve academic excellence in Mathematics and Science subjects.

As an Online Tutor, you will deliver high-quality virtual lessons, provide academic support to students from Grades 7–12, and play a key role in improving learner performance through structured teaching, personalized guidance, and continuous assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and interactive online tutoring sessions in Mathematics and Science (Physical Sciences, Natural Sciences, or Life Sciences).

• Teach according to the IEB and NSC curriculum requirements and assessment standards.

• Prepare lesson plans, digital resources, and practice materials aligned with curriculum outcomes.

• Support students with homework, assignments, exam preparation, and revision strategies.

• Track student progress and provide regular feedback to learners and parents.

• Identify learning gaps and design personalized improvement plans.

• Conduct mock tests and assessments to prepare students for exams.

• Maintain accurate student records and session reports.

• Foster a positive and motivating online learning environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Teaching certification (PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent) is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of IEB and NSC curricula.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in using online teaching platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, LMS tools).

• Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• High level of professionalism, patience, and empathy.

Experience

• Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching or tutoring experience in Mathematics and/or Science.

• Proven experience teaching IEB or NSC learners is essential.

• Prior experience in online tutoring or remote teaching is a strong advantage.

• Experience preparing students for exams and standardized assessments.

Working Hours

• Flexible working hours (part-time or full-time options available).

• Primarily afternoon and evening sessions, aligned with student availability.

• Weekend availability may be required based on demand.

• Fully remote – work from anywhere with a stable internet connection.
