Job Summary:

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, South Africas leading electricity utility, is seeking a dedicated General Worker to join our Bulk Material Services team. This role is essential to ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely handling of bulk materials, contributing directly to the operational excellence of Eskoms supply chain and energy generation processes. The successful candidate will support day-to-day operational activities, maintain high standards of workplace safety, and assist in achieving Eskoms organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely handle, load, unload, and transport bulk materials using standard operational equipment.

• Assist with stock management, storage, and organization of bulk materials in line with company procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas to comply with occupational health and safety standards.

• Report operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards promptly to supervisors.

• Support team members in completing assigned tasks efficiently and on time.

• Follow all company policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations while performing duties.

• Participate in basic maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment used in material handling.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Educational Requirement: Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent.

• Skills:

  • Basic material handling and manual labor skills.

  • Understanding of safety and operational procedures in an industrial environment.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.

  • Physical stamina to handle demanding manual tasks.

• Certifications (Advantageous): Forklift operation, first aid, or occupational health and safety training.

Experience:

• Prior experience in material handling, logistics, or a related industrial environment is preferred but not mandatory.

• Experience in bulk material operations will be considered an advantage.

Working Hours:

• Full-time position.

• Typical shift hours may vary depending on operational requirements. Flexibility to work overtime or during rotational shifts may be required.
