Job Summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Utilityman (FSS) to join our Logistics Services Support team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support in logistics, maintenance, and operational activities, ensuring smooth and efficient delivery of services. This role involves hands-on tasks in material handling, transport coordination, and assisting technical teams to maintain operational readiness. The position is vital in supporting Eskoms mission to provide reliable electricity supply while maintaining the highest safety and service standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of materials and equipment.

  • Support the logistics team in maintaining accurate stock records and inventory control.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and vehicles.

  • Assist technical personnel with operational and maintenance activities as required.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all logistical operations.

  • Monitor and report any issues related to equipment, materials, or transport to supervisors promptly.

  • Provide general support in office and field operations as needed.

  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery and availability of resources.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Matriculation (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.

  • Basic knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and supply chain operations.

  • Familiarity with handling industrial tools, materials, and transport equipment.

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.

  • Strong physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks efficiently.

  • Basic communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with team members and supervisors.


Experience

  • Previous experience in logistics, warehousing, or operations support is preferred.

  • Experience in the utility or power sector is an advantage but not mandatory.


Working Hours

  • Standard working hours are aligned with Eskoms operational schedule.

  • Flexibility required for overtime, shift work, or emergency call-outs as per operational demands.
