Job Summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, a leading electricity utility in South Africa, is seeking a dedicated General Worker – Maintenance & Cleaning to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of our facilities, supporting operational efficiency and a healthy work environment. This role requires hands-on effort, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures while contributing to a professional and safe workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties across offices, workshops, and plant areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste disposal.

• Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, and upkeep of tools and equipment.

• Assist technical teams in preparing and maintaining work areas for maintenance projects.

• Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used correctly and stored safely.

• Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or equipment malfunctions promptly to supervisors.

• Comply with company health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.

• Support special projects and emergency maintenance tasks as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: Minimum of Grade 10/Matric.

• Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques and general maintenance practices.

• Ability to operate basic hand tools and equipment safely.

• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor.

• Good communication skills to follow instructions and interact with team members.

• Awareness of workplace safety standards and procedures.

Experience

• Previous experience in general cleaning, maintenance, or facility support is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Experience in an industrial or corporate environment will be considered a plus.

Working Hours

• Full-time position.

• Standard operational shifts with flexibility as required for maintenance or cleaning emergencies.
