Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Asset Investment Planning Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the strategic planning and optimization of Eskoms asset investments to deliver sustainable energy solutions across South Africa. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance in the evaluation, prioritization, and management of asset investment projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long-term growth strategies.
The Asset Investment Planning Advisor will collaborate closely with senior management, engineering teams, and financial analysts to facilitate informed investment decisions that maximize asset performance, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Develop and implement asset investment strategies to support Eskoms long-term objectives and operational efficiency.
Conduct comprehensive financial and technical evaluations of proposed investments and projects.
Advise senior leadership on prioritization of capital expenditure based on risk, return, and strategic alignment.
Monitor asset performance, lifecycle costs, and investment outcomes to inform future planning decisions.
Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory standards.
Support the integration of asset management frameworks and investment planning tools.
Stay abreast of industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies in energy asset investment.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related discipline.
Professional certification in asset management or project management (e.g., PMP, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in financial modeling and investment evaluation.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills for conveying complex technical and financial information.
Strategic thinking with the ability to balance operational needs with long-term investment goals.
Proficient in asset management software, financial modeling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in asset investment planning, capital project evaluation, or strategic financial advisory roles.
Experience in the energy, utility, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale capital projects and providing high-level advisory support to senior executives.
Full-time position, standard office hours with flexibility based on project deadlines.
Occasional travel to operational sites may be required.
Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and investment planning methodologies.
Ability to interpret complex technical and financial data for decision-making.
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and analytical rigor.
Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders, including government entities, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
Sound knowledge of energy sector regulations and compliance requirements.
