Job Summary

The Lot Associate at Home Depot plays a crucial role in delivering a seamless customer experience by ensuring the efficient management of the store lot, assisting customers with purchases, and supporting the overall store operations. This position combines physical activity with customer service excellence, requiring attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety. The Lot Associate ensures that products are handled properly, displays are maintained, and customers receive prompt and friendly assistance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with loading and unloading merchandise from their vehicles, providing excellent service with a professional and courteous demeanor.

  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the parking lot, loading areas, and store perimeter.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Receive incoming deliveries, verify shipment accuracy, and ensure proper storage or placement of merchandise.

  • Collaborate with store team members to support inventory management, product rotation, and stock replenishment.

  • Communicate with store management regarding customer concerns, product availability, or operational issues.

  • Adhere to Home Depots safety protocols and company policies at all times.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate material handling equipment safely.

  • Physical stamina to lift, push, pull, and carry merchandise up to 75 lbs regularly.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining high energy and attention to detail.

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Basic math and organizational skills for handling transactions, stock, and orders.


Experience

  • Previous experience in retail, warehouse, or logistics is preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with forklifts, pallet jacks, and inventory systems is a plus.

  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.


Working Hours

  • Full-time or part-time shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

  • Flexibility to accommodate seasonal peak periods and operational needs.

  • Knowledge of store layout, product categories, and basic operational procedures.
