Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Desktop Support Engineer L1 to join our dynamic IT support team for a leading MNC client. This role involves providing first-level technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of working in a rotational shift environment to support global operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network-related issues to end-users via phone, email, or ticketing system.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve common IT issues including Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, peripheral devices, and VPN connectivity.

  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and other IT equipment.

  • Escalate unresolved technical problems to higher-level support teams or vendors as necessary.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of support requests, resolutions, and IT inventory.

  • Ensure timely follow-up and closure of support tickets, maintaining high customer satisfaction.

  • Support IT projects, including system upgrades, software deployments, and asset management.

  • Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and security protocols.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Basic knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Microsoft Office applications, and networking fundamentals.

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, printers, and peripherals.

  • Understanding of VPN, remote desktop tools, and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle end-user issues professionally.


Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, or helpdesk roles is preferred.

  • Experience working in rotational shifts or supporting global clients is an advantage.


Working Hours

  • Rotational shifts (including nights and weekends) to support 24/7 global operations.

  • Flexibility to adapt to shift changes as per business requirements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow troubleshooting protocols.
