Job Summary

Startup Inno is seeking a talented and highly motivated Remote Backend Engineer with expertise in Python and Django to join our dynamic fintech team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, and DevOps to design, develop, and maintain robust backend architectures that support our growing customer base.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of fintech solutions, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security, while leveraging modern technologies and best practices in software development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and Django.

  • Build and optimize APIs, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless user experiences.

  • Implement database models, data storage solutions, and query optimization for efficient data handling.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.

  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance our backend infrastructure.

  • Ensure compliance with fintech regulations and implement robust security measures.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Python and Django framework.

  • Solid understanding of RESTful API development, authentication, and authorization.

  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).

  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of asynchronous task queues (Celery, RabbitMQ) and background job processing.

  • Experience in writing automated tests and following test-driven development (TDD) practices.

  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Familiarity with fintech concepts, payment gateways, and security best practices.


Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in backend development.

  • Proven track record of developing and deploying production-grade applications in Python/Django.

  • Experience working in remote or distributed teams is highly preferred.


Working Hours

  • Full-time remote position.

  • Flexible hours with core overlap for team collaboration (preferred 10 AM – 4 PM UTC).

  • Occasional participation in sprint planning, stand-ups, and product review meetings.
