Job Summary

Global MNC Tech is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Platform Engineer – Site Disaster Recovery to join our dynamic technology operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining disaster recovery strategies and solutions across our global IT infrastructure. You will work closely with cloud, network, and platform teams to ensure our systems are resilient, highly available, and compliant with industry best practices. This position is critical in safeguarding business continuity and minimizing downtime in the event of unplanned disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage disaster recovery (DR) plans for multi-cloud and on-premises platforms.

• Develop automated failover and failback procedures for critical applications and infrastructure.

• Conduct regular DR drills, tests, and audits to validate readiness and system resilience.

• Collaborate with IT operations, security, and platform teams to maintain high availability architectures.

• Monitor and report on DR system health, performance, and compliance with corporate standards.

• Participate in incident response activities, providing technical expertise during outages and recovery efforts.

• Continuously assess emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to improve disaster recovery strategies.

• Document DR processes, policies, and procedures to ensure knowledge continuity and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Strong experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability systems.

• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid IT environments.

• Solid understanding of networking, storage, virtualization, and platform infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with scripting and automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).

• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and incident response tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, platform engineering, or disaster recovery roles.

• Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise-scale DR solutions in multi-region environments.

• Proven track record of working in fast-paced, global technology teams.

Working Hours

• Full-time position; may require on-call rotation for disaster recovery and incident response activities.

• Flexibility in hours may be required to accommodate global operations and DR testing.

• In-depth knowledge of disaster recovery frameworks and methodologies (e.g., DRaaS, RTO, RPO).

• Strong ability to design redundant and fault-tolerant systems.

• Ability to perform under pressure during critical incidents.
