Job Description

We are hiring for Associate Medical Coding Specialists and Medical Coding Specialists (Contractor) to support our medical coding operations. This role involves reviewing and analyzing medical records to assign appropriate codes based on clinical documentation. Key Responsibilities

Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on patient medical records and clinical documentation.
Ensure compliance with payer-specific policies, coding standards, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct reviews of medical records for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to coding policies.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous or incomplete documentation.
Assist in identifying and resolving claim denials related to coding errors or documentation issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, industry guidelines, and coding tools/software.
Participate in coding audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance coding accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field (preferred).

Certification (required):
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).

Experience:
1+ years of medical coding experience (required for the Specialist role).
Entry-level candidates with relevant certifications will be considered for Associate-level roles.
Experience in coding for inpatient, outpatient, or physician services is preferred.

Skills:
Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathophysiology.
Familiarity with EHR systems and coding software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or 3M Encoder).
Attention to detail and analytical skills for high coding accuracy.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
