Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Support Engineer – Network and Security to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of our network infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving network issues, and implementing security measures to protect our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network and security operations and be committed to delivering exceptional support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network and security issues promptly and effectively.
  • Implement and manage network security protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to design and implement network upgrades and enhancements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients regarding network and security-related concerns.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and incidents for future reference and compliance.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, security threats, and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in network and security engineering or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear and concise technical support.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or similar) are preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in network and security engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with managing and securing network infrastructure in a remote or distributed environment is a plus.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time, remote position.
  • Flexible working hours with occasional on-call support as needed.

  • Strong understanding of network architecture and security principles.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
