We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to help revolutionize the way the world works. Join our dynamic Data Platform team, supporting cross-functional groups globally.
Your Role
As a Senior Cloud Database Engineer, you will:
Plan Capacity: Estimate compute and storage requirements, monitor usage and trends.
Optimize Performance: Monitor and analyze database systems to enhance performance.
Design Solutions: Implement highly available cloud-based database systems.
Ensure Security: Develop policies for disaster recovery and data archiving.
Authenticate and Authorize: Implement cloud-based database security measures.
Migrate Databases: Plan and execute Premise-to-Cloud and Cloud-to-Cloud migrations.
Standardize Builds: Create build guide parameters and configuration for database platforms.
Develop Scripts: Craft installation, data migration, and upgrade scripts for CI/CD.
Deploy Solutions: Build and configure cloud database solutions based on requirements.
Monitor Systems: Implement performance, fault, and security monitoring in AWS.
Manage Environments: Oversee production, testing, and QA database environments.
Troubleshoot Issues: Resolve complex data-related problems and errors.
Document Processes: Provide comprehensive design documentation.
Integrate Systems: Create and maintain integrations between systems/environments.
What You Bring
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud computing architecture and best practices.
Experience: 5+ years designing and managing secure, highly available database cloud solutions.
Roadmap Skills: Experience in migrating legacy data solutions to AWS.
DBA Background: 5+ years of DBA experience, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
Security Knowledge: Proficient in database security best practices.
High Availability: Experience with cloud database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery infrastructure.
AWS Proficiency: Familiarity with AWS Aurora, CloudWatch, and IAM configurations.
Operational Excellence: Experience in operational best practices, change management, and uptime.
Scripting Skills: 5+ years of SQL scripting, 3+ years of Python, and Terraform experience.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Informatics, or a related field.
Nice To Have
Advanced Degree: MS or higher in a relevant field.
CI/CD Tools: Experience with database deployments in AWS using CI/CD tools.
Additional Technologies: Familiarity with Liquibase, Snowflake, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, AWS DMS, and SSIS.
